Dr. Nili

A little about me.

ABOUT DR. NILI

I’m Dr. Parissa Nili, a licensed clinical psychologist, educator, and consultant based in California.

My work has always been driven by a curiosity about people—how we understand ourselves, navigate challenges, and find meaning in our experiences. Over the course of my career, that curiosity has taken me beyond individual therapy and into clinical leadership, higher education, and mental health program development.

Today, I bring these experiences together through therapy, workshops, speaking, and consulting, with a shared goal of making psychological science relevant and useful in everyday life.

MY PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Clinical experience, education, and leadership.

In addition to my independent practice, I serve as a Clinical Associate Professor at the Keck School of Medicine of USC and Clinical Director of My Mental Health, a university-based mental health initiative.

MY EXPERIENCE INCLUDES

Developing and implementing mental health screening and triage processes

Coordinating responses to acute mental health concerns

Collaborating across clinical and university teams

Training and supervising future mental health professionals

Working across direct clinical care and larger systems has given me an appreciation for both individual experiences and the organizational challenges involved in providing effective mental health services.

Evidence-based, collaborative, and grounded in real life.

MY APPROACH

In therapy, my style is warm, collaborative, and active.

I want people to feel comfortable being themselves while also feeling supported in exploring difficult patterns and trying new ways of responding to life’s challenges.

My approach draws primarily from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), with an emphasis on self-compassion, flexibility, and making choices guided by what matters most.
